What is CREWMED?

CrewMed is Ottawa's premier emergency medical services company. We are here at the RA Centre 7 days a week to enhance the safety and well-being of members and guests. That means you!

We are here to:

respond to medical emergencies as necessary,
inspect safety and first aid equipment as well as the facilities AED's,
assist the guest services team as required,
perform daily safety inspections of the building,
and provide first aid training.

What is your function at the RA Centre?

We have five main roles.

What qualifications do your team members hold?

We are medical first responders retained by the RA Centre to intervene in medical emergencies. Some of our team members are first responders who work in professional services.

When are you at the RA Centre?

For 2025 our schedule is as follows:

Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 23:00
Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 to 21:00

How can I reach your team if I'm injured or I witness an injury?

Our team conducts regular walk-through's of the Centre. If we aren't around go to the East Desk or call (613) 733-5100 ext. 408 to guest services and ask for CrewMed or First Aid. The guest services team will call a medical crew member on the radio which will active our response. If you're calling on behalf of someone who is injured DO NOT attempt to move them unless their life is in immediate danger. Refrain from calling 9-1-1 until our team has assessed the situation. If the injured party is not breathing start CPR immediately until our team arrives.
